Here, we report the anticancer behaviour of MnPS3 towards lung cancer A549 cells where approximately 50% of the cells remain viable upon a low dosage of MnPS3 treatment. We found that MnPS3 triggers A549 cells to generate reactive oxygen species and undergo apoptosis leading to cell death. These findings serve as a platform for introducing MnPS3 in biomedical applications.
